Karel's is a small, privately owned property for use by members and their invited guests. It is set on 10 acres just off the Alpine Way with wonderful views of the valley and surrounding hills. It was founded in 1989 by a group of predominately Sydney based families who were interested in having a place to stay that gave them the flexibility to ski at either Thredbo or Perisher Blue, but which also provided an environment that non-skiing members could enjoy in both the winter and summer seasons.
Karel's is outside the National Park boundary, 29 kilometres from Thredbo and 30 kilometres from Perisher Blue. The Ski tube is just 10 kilometres away.
Karel's is well away from the urban environment of Jindabyne and yet close enough to make a trip into town very easy.
